15 Bible Verses about Courage and Strength in Hard Times.

15 Bible Verses About Courage and Strength

Originally I was going to write a blog post about finding strength in hard times. But I can’t even begin to imagine what you are going through, let alone tell you how to get through it. Only God can help you and give you courage and strength.

You can turn to the Bible where you will find Bible verses on finding strength in hard times. Satan loves to make us feel desperate and lost, ultimately turning our hearts away from God. Fight his attacks and arm yourself with the Word of God.

Though we aren’t promised an easy life, we are told that Christ will be there for us when we put our full trust in Him. He won’t give us more than we can handle, and even our hard times can be used to glorify God.

If you are looking for Bible Verses to remind you of God’s faithfulness in all things, you have come to the right place.

Bible Verses About Courage and Strength in Hard Times

Even when we believe the truth that God is in control, there can be a lot that we begin to worry about in life. We get distracted by all the things that could never give us strength and hope. God is the only source of our strength. Choose today to set your eyes on Him, no matter your circumstance.

Isaiah 41:10: “Do not fear for I am with you; do not be afraid for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold onto you with My righteous hand.”

Deuteronomy 31:6: “Be strong and courageous; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For it is the Lord your God who goes with you; He will not leave you or forsake you.”

1 Chronicles 28:20: “When David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and courageous and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God is with you. He won’t leave you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the Lord’s house is finished.”

Isaiah 54:4: “Do not be afraid, for you will not be put to shame; don’t be humiliated, for you will not be disgraced. For you will forget the shame of your youth, and you will no longer remember the disgrace of your widowhood.”

Matthew 10:26: “Therefore, don’t be afraid of them, since there is nothing covered that won’t be uncovered and nothing hidden that won’t be made known.”

Finding Courage and Strength in God

It can be so easy to give in to worry, fear and despair, but with God, we can find comfort and hope! Read and meditate on these truths and let God reveal the wonderful things he has planned for your life.

Psalm 56:3-4: “When I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths.”

Joshua 1:8-9: “This book of instruction must not depart from your mouth; you are to recite it day and night so that you may carefully observe everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in whatever you do. Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

James 1:2-4: “Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.”

Ephesians 6:10: “Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by His vast strength.”
