What Does the Bible Say About Starting Fresh
Your ability to create lasting change is limited without the power of the Holy Spirit. Rather than relying on your own resolve, you must turn to the Word and spend time in prayer to see what God says. Invite Him to give you a fresh start and make a change for your good and His glory.
Revelation 21:5: And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also, he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Luke 5:37-38: And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.
Isaiah 43:19: Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 65:17: For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth,
and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind.
Romans 6:4: We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

4 Tips to Make a Fresh Start
God loves you too much to let you stay stuck. He wants what is best for you. He has a purpose and a plan for your life. With God on your side, you can make a fresh start.
Step Out in Faith
One way to make a fresh start is to see where God is calling you next. Stepping out in faith can be scary but God will be with you each step of the way.
Maybe you have a bad habit and you need to make a change. God will help you! Stepping out in faith is so worth it because God will show up in unimaginable ways.
Shift your Focus
So often we get stuck on ourselves and all that is going wrong in our lives. If you shift your focus on Jesus, the worries might still be there but you will see them through a whole new perspective.
Turn your eyes on Jesus who will guide your way. Jesus has the power to overcome whatever is preventing you from making a fresh start.
Forgive Others
Sometimes the thing holding you back from making a fresh start is forgiving others. We tend to hold onto things and ruminate on them. But if we forgive others, we will find freedom in making a new beginning.
Forgiving others can help you make a fresh start in a relationship. Or sometimes you need to let that relationship go and make new ones. Either way, forgiving others allows you to find freedom.
Seek Godly Counsel
Like I mentioned above, maybe you have a bad habit or you think God is calling you to something but you don’t know where to start. This is where you should seek godly counsel. The advice of others can help you on your journey to a fresh start.
Prayer for Making a Fresh Start
Confess to God whatever is holding you back from making a fresh start. Ask God to reveal the core reason and help you make changes so that you can live in a way that is pleasing to Him.
“Lord, thank you for a fresh day, a fresh week, and a fresh page on the calendar. Thank you that your mercies are new every morning. I pray that you help reveal what needs to be changed in my heart so I know how to make a fresh start. Help me set my mind on things above. Your guidance and wisdom will carry me forward. Lord, let’s do this together. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
